ABOUT
CONVERGE
GET TO KNOW US
We are a church on the move... literally! Every story has a start, and it is not usually until you look back that you see how everything has been working together for a particular goal. In 2012, Bethel Full Gospel Church had a vision to plant a church and Converge was blessed to be that church.
On Sept. 7, 2014 we held our first service in the Scotia Movie Theatre on Mohawk Ave. in Scotia. After 6 months, we moved to the Dollar General Plaza in Scotia where we stayed for 5 years. Then due to nearby construction, we took temporary refuge in Bethel Full Gospel's building in Rotterdam NY. While there, we were blessed to be able to save for our own building . On Easter Sunday 2022 we came full circle, returning to Mohawk Ave in Scotia at the old Tartan Lanes Bowl building.
We are a Bible focused church with a passion to be right where God wants us, doing what He calls us to do. We are pleased to have returned to Scotia. We are excited to be part of how God moves in this village. Pastor Sean Lawton and the rest of the team invite you to join us for service, Bible studies, prayer and youth programs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We know that taking the step of visiting a new church can be an interesting experience. However, we are anxious to meet you and want to help make you feel comfortable, so here is what you can expect when you walk in the doors!
Relaxed
Come as you are! There is no dress code here at Converge... well, there is one code- come dressed! But wear what you like! We tend to focus more on your spiritual health than your fashion choices.
Passion
Anything worth doing is worth doing passionately! Expect passion when you come to Converge. From our worship, to our preaching, to everything we do, you will see our passion for Jesus and the Kingdom of God.
Relevance
We are real people with real problems who serve a real God. We teach on relevant topics that can help you live out your life and faith. We regularly talk about forgiveness, dealing with failures, why bad things happen to good people, God's love, mercy, and justice. If you are looking for real answers to your tough questions about life and faith, you will find them here!
Relationships
Relationships are the key to our church. The Bible is about how much God wants a relationship with us and how we were designed to be in relationship with others. We believe that life is best experienced in relationships. You can expect a friendly, loving atmosphere with people who care. We love everyone who comes through our doors because God does.
OUR
MISSION
We exist to introduce our community to the extraordinary destiny Jesus has for their life ...
by encouraging them to discover their extraordinary destiny in Jesus, connect them with others on that same journey to go out and reach their neighborhoods with the practical love of Christ!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for the sins of this world
Man is inherently lost and needs to find a relationship with Jesus for his salvation.
We believe in the Bible, the Word of God. It is our ultimate source for matters of faith and life.
We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, who equips the believer to live for God.
We adhere to the 16 fundamental beliefs and the positional papers of the AG church. These are listed at ag.org/beliefs.
WE WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU!
Stop by any Sunday at 10:30 am
We will get your feet tapping during contempory live worship. You will be inspired and challenged by the preaching. You will be surrounded by the family of God who really care about you.
But don't just take our word for it, come check us out yourself!
